After FDA release and H-E-B Independent Quality Assurance Testing,
H-E-B Brings Tomatoes from Cleared States to the Shelf  

Central Texas – June 13, 2008 – In an abundance of caution on Friday, June 6th H-E-B issued a precautionary recall for fresh Roma and salad (round) tomatoes, following an alert issued by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).  The most recent update from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) concluded tomatoes from certain states are not associated with the salmonella outbreak.

Starting on Friday,  June 13th H-E-B is offering tomatoes from states that have been released by the recent FDA consumer alert.  H-E-B has taken extra precautions; the tomatoes have been tested by an independent quality assurance lab to ensure the products are absolutely safe before making them available to their customers.
